Day Boat Hire
For a special day out with family, friends or business colleagues take a day trip on board one of our self-drive narrow boats: 'Norseman', 'Viking', 'Roman' or 'Saxon'.
Our purpose built day narrow boats are ideal for entertaining. Each boat can accommodate up to 10 people. The facilities on board include comfortable seating areas both inside the boat and outside in the large front cockpit. There is also small fridge to keep your drinks cool, an oven, a full inventory of cutlery and crockery and a toilet compartment. Buoyancy aids can be provided free of charge.

Your cruising ground will be from Catteshall Lock, Godalming to the Rowbarge Public House, north of Guildford. No experience is necessary as a "show-round" and boat handling tuition are given, including the operation of Catteshall lock.
If you'd like to make things really easy, you can even order breakfast for your group in "Hectors On The Wey" Bistro, situated right by the side of your boat! Hectors can also provide a picnic or lunch for you to take on board. Please Click Here for further details.
There is nothing to compare with a day on the river. You will cruise through woodland and meadows, passing through locks, beneath the ruins of St Catherine's chapel, Guildford Castle and historic Dapdune Wharf before turning back.
We can advise you on pretty picnic spots and characterful pubs on the way or you may prefer to wine and dine on board.
Hiring a boat is the perfect tonic to a busy lifestyle. Celebrate a birthday or anniversary, use one boat (or maybe two), as the basis for an entertaining corporate day for staff or clients. Or try a day to see if you might like a longer narrow boat holiday in the future.

Day Boat Hire Prices 2012
Special offer FREE EXTRA PERSONS on all mid-week date day hire made for April 2012 placed during February !!!!
The season starts in April and runs until the end of October. Full tuition is provided, which lasts for 30 - 40 minutes. Start time is at 9.30am and return time is no later than 5.30pm (or before dusk if earlier).

An extra £10 is charged for every additional person (including children) up to a maximum of 10 people.
Full payment is required to secure the booking. On the day, you will be asked for a refundable damage deposit of £150.00 in CASH (held against any damage to the vessel, third party claim or contravention of National Trust Bylaws). Additional security deposits may be required for single sex crews. The deposits will be refunded on return, provided the boat is returned on time and without any breakages or claims. Late return will be charged at £50.00 per hour or part thereof. Hirers must be 25 years or over. Prices include VAT at the current rate.
